Crochet Heart Scrunchie

My daughter loved the single crochet scrunchie that I made. We decided that pattern would make a good base for some new scrunchie designs. We decided to start by making a crochet heart scrunchie.

This crochet heart scrunchie will be made exactly like my Single Crochet Scrunchie. The only difference will be that instead of making the scrunchie all one color, you will want to follow the chart in this post for making the rectangle.

Crochet Heart Scrunchie

Materials:  5.5mm crochet hook

                     White yarn

Pink yarn

                     9 inch piece of elastic

To make the rectangle for the scrunchie, follow the chart above to create the heart pattern.

To start: Chain 66

Row 1: sc in second chain and each chain across (65), ch 1 and turn

Rows 2-14: sc in each stitch across, ch 1 and turn

Row 15: sc in each stitch across

To finish fold the crochet rectangle in half and sew the long edges together.  Next, put the piece of elastic in the middle of the tube and tie the ends together. Finally, sew the ends of the tube together.

The crochet heart scrunchie is finished. This was a fun way to adapt my original scrunchie pattern. My daughter loves the hearts and is looking forward to creating new designs.

Let me know in the comments if there is a design you would like to see me try and create on a scrunchie.
