I wanted to get another Halloween pattern created, and my daughter has been asking for some new scarves. We decided that this crochet black cat pocket scarf would be the perfect project. My daughter loves pocket scarves and cats, so it was a great combination for her.
This is a fairly easy project. The scarf is a simple half double crochet stitch scarf. For the pockets I made black cat faces that were large enough to cover her hands. This is a child sized scarf, but can easily be adapted to any size. The scarf can be made longer by adding more rows of half double crochet stitches. If the pockets need to be made larger it can be done by adding more increase rounds on the cat face until they are large enough.
For this scarf I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn, and a 5.75mm crochet hook.

To finish the pockets, sew the ears, eyes, and nose to the cat face. Then use the white yarn to stitch whiskers onto the cat faces. Finish the scarf by sewing the cat faces to the ends of the scarf. Be sure to sew along the sides and bottom of the cat face only so they can be used as pockets.
The scarf is now finished.
My daughter was so excited when I got this one finished. She can’t wait to wear it for the rest of the Halloween season.
