My children have a lot of fidget toys. I like that these toys can keep them entertained and focused. I don’t like the amount of noise that many of these toys make. The constant clicking sounds drives me crazy! I’ve decided to start making them some crochet fidget toys. This way they can be entertained without all the noise. This time I decided to make a crochet fidget slug.
This is a pretty easy pattern. It is easy to customize by making the segments in a variety of colors. You can also make this toy as long as you would like by simply adding more segments to the middle.
For this pattern I used a 5.5 mm crochet hook and Big Twist Value yarn. You can substitute this with any yarn that you have around. It is one of those projects that is perfect for using up scraps from other projects.

To finish the fidget slug, slide all of the segment on to the long tail that you left on the head. Starting from the head place segment 1, segment 2, 4 segment 3, segment 2, segment 1, and the tail.

Sew the tail to the last segment to finish the slug.

My kids loved this crochet fidget slug, and I love the quiet. This is a fun project to get creative with and make in a variety of colors. My children have several different ones already.
