I decided that it was time to make something new for my son. He has been wanting a new blanket, and decided that a blanket shaped like a piece of sushi would be fun. I told him I would figure out how to make him a crochet sushi blanket. He has been so excited to watch the progress on this blanket, and kept holding it up to make sure that I was making it the exact size that he wanted.
This blanket is pretty simple to make. It is made entirely of double crochet in the round. Instead of working in a continuous round, I decided to chain and turn after each row to make it easier to switch the colors in the middle of the blanket. This crochet sushi blanket could easily be made larger or smaller by adding or removing rows. All you have to do is make sure you are adding 12 stitches in each row.
Crochet Sushi Blanket
Materials: 6.0 mm crochet hook
Light green yarn (1)

To start: (in red) make a magic ring, ch 3
Round 1: 4 dc inside ring, (in yellow) 4 dc inside ring, (in green) 4 dc inside ring (12), sl st to first dc, ch 3 and turn
