It’s been a while since I’ve made a new hat for my cats to wear. Since it’s almost October we decided that they needed a new Halloween hat. We decided that a crochet candy corn hat for cats would be a great addition to their wardrobe.
This is a pretty easy pattern. It is similar to the Witch Hat for Cats at the beginning.
I made this pattern using Red Heart Super Saver yarn and a 5.5 mm crochet hook.
Crochet Candy Corn Cat Hat
Materials:
- White yarn
- Orange yarn
- Yellow yarn
- 5.5 mm crochet hook
- Yarn needle
Hat:
(in white) Start by making a magic ring
Round 1: 3 sc inside ring, sl st to first sc, ch 1
Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around (6), sl st to first sc, ch 1
Round 3: sc in each stitch around (6), sl st to first sc, ch 1
Round 4: (2 sc in first stitch, sc in next stitch) repeat around (9), sl st to first sc, ch 1
Round 5: sc in each stitch around (9), sl st to first sc, ch 1
Round 6: (sc in first stitch, 2 sc in next stitch, sc in next stitch) repeat around (12), sl st to first sc, ch 1
Round 7: sc in each stitch around (12), sl st to first sc, ch 1
(in orange)
Round 8: (2 sc in first stitch, sc in next 3 stitches) repeat around (15), sl st to first sc, ch 1
Round 9: sc in each stitch around (15), sl st to first sc, ch 1
Round 10: (sc in first 2 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch, sc in next 2 stitches) repeat around (18), sl st to first sc, ch 1
Round 11: sc in each stitch around (18), sl st to first sc, ch 1
Round 12: (2 sc in first stitch, sc in next 5 stitches) repeat around (21), sl st to first sc, ch 1

Round 21: sc in first 3 stitches, ch 12, sk 12 stitches, sc in next 6 stitches, ch 12, sk 12 stitches, sc in last 3 stitches, join to first sc, ch 3
Round 22: dc in first 3 stitches, 12 dc in ch 12 space, dc in next 6 stitches, 12 dc in ch 12 space, dc in last 3 stitches, ch 3
Round 23: (fpdc in first stitch, bpdc in next stitch) repeat around, sl st to first stitch and ch 3

I think this crochet candy corn hat for cats turned out so cute! My cat doesn’t agree, but she loved the treats that she got for being such a nice model.
