One of my hobbies, besides crafting, is studying mushrooms. My family loves to take nature walks and photograph the different mushrooms that we find. My daughter even likes to have us read to her from mushroom guides at bedtime!
We decided that a fun new project would be to create a collection of crochet mushrooms. I already made a morel mushroom earlier this year. I decided that for the second mushroom in my collection I would create a crochet Chanterelle mushroom. We have seen several of these on our hikes, so it seemed like the perfect mushroom to add to our collection.
This is a fairly easy pattern. It is made up of two pieces that are worked in the round. This project can be made quickly. It is also another small project that doesn’t require much yarn. I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn for this project.

To finish, sew the cap to the body of the mushroom adding a small amount of fiber fill. Be careful not to add too much stuffing. You want this mushroom’s cap to be flat or slightly concave.
That’s it! I think think this mushroom turned out cute. Now I have to decide what mushroom to add to my collection next. If you have any suggestions please let me know in the comments.
