Crochet Sunflower Bookmark

I love to crochet bookmarks. They are a fast project, and require only small scraps of yarn. We always need more bookmarks in our house, because they get lost so fast. They also make a great inexpensive gift. My children’s teachers always love to receive them. I thought that a crochet sunflower bookmark would be perfect for this time of year.

For this project I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn and a 4.5 mm crochet hook. The flower petals on this bookmark are made by first crocheting in the back loops only, then going around and working in the front loops only. This gives the flower a much fuller appearance.

Finish off

If you don’t need a bookmark, you can stop and finish off once you complete the second row of petals. At this point you have a flower that you can use to embellish any other projects. I made a second flower and attached it to a hair clip for my daughter.
