It’s back to school time! I love making things for my kids to celebrate the beginning of the school year. This crochet pencil bookmark is the perfect quick and easy project. It’s easy to find the time to make this while busy preparing for a new school year.
I made this bookmark using a 5mm hook and Big Twist Value yarn. I used this yarn because it is what I had on hand. This project would probably be even better if a lighter weight yarn is used.
Crochet Pencil Bookmark
Materials:
- 5mm crochet hook
- Black yarn
- Tan yarn
- Yellow yarn
- Gray yarn
- Pink yarn
- Yarn needle
Pencil Bookmark Pattern
(in black) ch 2 to start
Row 1: sc in second chain, ch 1 and turn
Row 2: 2 sc in stitch, (in tan) ch 1 and turn
Row 3: 2 sc in each stitch across (4), ch 1 and turn
Row 4: sc in each stitch across (4), ch 1 and turn
Row 5: 2 sc in first stitch, sc in next 2 stitches, 2 sc in last stitch (6), (in yellow) ch 1 and turn
Rows 6-25: sc in each stitch across, ch 1 and turn
Row 26: sc in each stitch across, (in gray) ch 1 and turn
Rows 27-29: sc in each stitch across, ch 1 and turn
Row 30: sc in each stitch across, (in pink) ch 1 and turn
Rows 31-34: sc in each stitch across, ch 1 and turn
Row 35: sc in each stitch across, fasten off
We can never have too many bookmarks in our house, so I know my kids will be very happy to have this crochet pencil bookmark. It should get a lot of use during this school year.
